Information security – sometimes referred to as InfoSec – is large subject, and one Global is perfectly positioned to demonstrate. InfoSec forms part of information risk management, and involves preventing or reducing the probability of unauthorized access to data assets.
The subject covers information from its inception to its destruction, and includes various internal and externally focused controls, to avoid it’s unlawful use, disclosure, disruption, deletion, corruption, modification, inspection, recording, or devaluation. Protected information may take the form of electronic or physical, tangible or intangible information assets.
Information security’s primary focus is the balanced protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data (CIA triad), while maintaining efficient policy implementation, without deteriorating the organization’s productivity.
